University of NCUT requirements
1. Basic abilities required by NCUT
(1) Graduation requirements of English: A student must acquire a certificate (or relevant document) of passing the preliminary test of GEPT intermediate level (or any other level).
(2) Graduation requirements of information ability: A student must pass Information Competency C level test.
(3) Graduation requirements of service learning: A student must complete
service learning for 54 hours.
(4) Academic Research Ethics Education Course: Students in the four-year
technical program must take and complete “Academic Research Ethics
Education Course” (2 hours) before graduation. Students in the master’s
program must take and complete “Academic Research Ethics Education
Course” (6 hours) before graduation.
2. Basic abilities required by the Department
(1) Acquiring licenses and certificates (1 certificate or license of Level B or 2
certificates or licenses of Level C): To provide graduates with advantages of employment, the Department requires students to acquire at least a certificate or license of Level B technician or 2 certificates or licenses of Level C technician before graduation.
1. Four-year technical program: A student in the four-year technical program at the Department must acquire at least 129 credits (consisting of 103 credits for required courses and at least 26 credits for the elective courses which shall contain at least 18 credits for the professional elective courses required by the Department) before graduation. The system of prerequisite courses is applicable to Landscape Design (1) to (8).
2. Master’s program: A student in the master’s program at the Department must acquire at least 41 credits, which shall consist of 20 credits for required courses and at least 21 credits for elective courses (including at least 14 credits for the professional electives) before graduation. After being admitted to NCUT, students at Group B are required to take “Advanced Landscape Discipline (3 credits)”, an elective course for the master’s program. “Environmental Planning and Design (I)” is the prerequisite course for students intending to take “Environmental Planning and Design (II)”. Before graduation, a student must acquire 4 or more points for publishing research results. After requiring the required points, the student is able to apply for the master’s degree examination.
3. Internship courses
(1) Winter vacation in the freshman year: 2 weeks to train students to have
skills required for a Level C technician for gardening.
(2) Summer vacation in the sophomore year: 4 weeks to train students to have
skills required for a Level B technical for gardening, woodworking and plant
maintenance management.
(3) Summer vacation in the junior year: Students must work as interns in the
companies relevant to landscape architecture for 2 months.
