The Goal

The Department is the first department of landscape architecture established by a national institute of technology in Taiwan.

As most of domestic professional landscape education was provided in the higher education system, the Department was aware that the industry lacked the professional talents who could connect landscape design with engineering, and has therefore established its educational objectives to cultivate students to become professional talents for landscape who have abilities for landscape design, computer graphics, preparation of construction drawings, budgeting, engineering practice and management to meet the needs of the industry and develop the educational spirit of “knowledge-action integration” held for the technical and vocational education.

The development objectives of the Department’s four-year technical program and master’s program are asfollows:

1. Four-year technical program: “To cultivate students to become professional talents who can connect landscape design to engineering”. 

2. Master's program: “To cultivate students to become professional talents whocan propose solutions for industrial and practical problems based on scientificevidence”.
