Graduation Requirements and Counseling Regulations for Students in the Four-year Technical Program Provided by Day Division, Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Chin-Yi University of Technology
The Graduation Requirements and Counseling Regulations for Students in the Four-year Technical Program Provided by Day Division, Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Chin-Yi University of Technology (hereinafter referred to as the Regulations) are established by Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, NCUT (hereinafter referred to as the Department) to improve students’ professional skills and enhance their employability.
The Regulations are applicable to students in the four-year program provided by Day Division in the Department.
After being admitted to the Department, a student must satisfy the graduation conditions provided by the Department before being permitted to graduate:
Students admitted from the 2009 academic year to the 2015 academic year (inclusive) to the four-year program in Day Division:
A student must acquire at least one of the professional certificates and licenses specified in the Attachment.
A student must pass the Collegiate Programming Examination (CPE) – Advanced Level held by “ACM-ICPC Contest Council for Taiwan”. (At least 2 questions for a single test, or 3 questions accumulated)
Core electives courses and corresponding credits and class hours are discussed by the Curriculum Committee of the Department every year. Courses are provided based on the subjects, credits and class houses indicated in the credit plan. A student must complete at least 5 core elective courses and acquire at least 15 credits for core elective courses.
Students admitted after the 2016 academic year (inclusive) to the four-year program in Day Division:
A student must acquire at least one of the professional certificates and licenses specified in the Attachment.
A student must pass the Collegiate Programming Examination (CPE) – Advanced Level held by “ACM-ICPC Contest Council for Taiwan”. (At least 2 questions for a single test, or 3 questions accumulated)
Core electives courses and corresponding credits and class hours are discussed by the Curriculum Committee of the Department every year. Courses are provided based on the subjects, credits and class houses indicated in the credit plan. A student must complete at least 4 core elective courses and acquire at least 12 credits for core elective courses.
After passing the Collegiate Programming Examination (CPE) – Advanced Level (for at least 2 questions for a single test, or 3 questions accumulated) held by “ACM-ICPC Contest Council for Taiwan”, the student shall take the grade report to the department office to have the grade recorded for reference and certifying the this graduation requirement has been meet.
The ratio of students passing graduation requirements shall be reviewed regularly. Counseling courses for students to acquire licenses and certificates, after-school counseling courses and places for students to practice shall be provided if necessary to assist students in enhancing their professional skills.
If the number of students for the aforementioned counseling measures is limited, the senior students to be graduated shall be accepted first.
Explanation of Programming Examination:
A student shall attend the Collegiate Programming Examination (CPE) held by “ACM-ICPC Contest Council for Taiwan” and shall answer at least one question correctly. After submitting the CPE grade report to the Department, the student is allowed to take the “Programming Examination Counseling” course provided in the second semester of his / her senior year. After the student has a satisfactory grade for the course, the graduation requirement of Programming Examination shall be superseded by the completed course.
In case a student has met the graduation requirement of Programming Examination by successfully completing the “Programming Examination Counseling” course with a satisfactory grade, the credits acquired for the course shall not be included in his /her graduation credits.
If a student has any question about the result determined with respect to his/her graduation qualification based on the graduation requirements, the student shall apply to the Department for review and holding a Meeting of Curriculum to review the issue.
The Regulations and any amendment to the Regulations shall be implemented after being adopted at the Meeting of Academic Affairs and approved by the president. (For other graduation requirements of English proficiency, service learning and off-campus internship, please refer to the graduation requirements provided by relevant NCUT units.)
