What is the emergency number for campus security?

  1. Report any on-campus/off-campus safety and security emergencies to the room teacher and NCUT Campus Security Center at 04-23928053, fax 04-23926755 to seek assistance.
  2. For any follow-ups and updates, the reporter may contact the Campus Security Center by phone.
  3. Post-incident counseling and assistance are provided by room teachers and military instructors at the Military Education Section

(04-23924505 ext 2311~2318).

Where is the Campus Security Center located?

It is located in Room 102 on the ground floor of Guoshiu Building. For queries and issues regarding living conditions, and campus safety and security, please contact the Center at 0423924505,ext.2311~2318.

What are the beds available, charges, and managerial rules for the Chin-Yi Dormitory?    

  1. The newly completed dormitory has been open since August 14, 2013. There are a total of 400 beds for female students and an additional 400 beds for male students. The room types include 4-bed rooms and barrier-free twin-bed rooms (8 beds for male students and another 8 for female students).
  2. Charges: Each bed (regardless of the room type) is charged at TWD 9,000 (utility fee included) and a TWD 225 Internet fee per semester. A stored-value card is available for air-conditioning if needed (charged by electricity meter).
  3. The access hours for the dormitory are from 06:00 to 23:00. Roll-calling will be conducted at 23:00 every day.

How can students get information on off-campus room rentals?

  1. NCUT has established a website for off-campus room rentals: https://rent.ncut.edu.tw/rent2018/

The landlords on the website are safety certified by NCUT room rental personnel, the fire brigade and police station to ensure students a safe living environment.

How to apply for draft deferment and post-school mobilization?  

  1. Freshman students should log into NCUT website to complete the application. Start by accessing the NCUT website, click on School Affairs and Administration, find Students, choose Student Affairs, click on Military Service, and then select Draft Deferment or Post-school Mobilization. From there, select Identity, and then fill in your personal data. Finally, select Upload to submit your application.

What is the procedure for applying for student leaves?

  1. Go to E-Application, click on Student Leave, enter Account and Password, click on Student Zone, click on Student Leave, input the information required to apply for a leave, upload supporting documents, save, and then submit for approval.

How to apply for tuition/miscellaneous fee reduction or exemption?

  1. The application for tuition/miscellaneous fee reduction or exemption starts from May to December every year for Taiwan student.(after mid-term exams). An additional reception opens in January for those students with the certification valid till the end of the year, who intend to apply for partial reduction but fail to apply by December. How to apply for Level 5 Financial Aids of College Financial Aids for the Less-Privileged?

  1. Financial Aids for the Less-Privileged: The reception opens from September till mid-October every year for Taiwan student.(after the start of the semester). The applications for the “Financial Aids for the Less-Privileged” and for “tuition/miscellaneous fee reduction” shall not co-exist. For more information, refer to the webpage of Student Assistance Section.

How to apply for scholarships?      

  1. On-campus Scholarship: The awards for Scholarships of Admission With Excellent Academic Performance and Excellent Performance Scholarships will be recorded and given by the Office of Academic Affairs. For other scholarships, the applications should be finalized within designated deadlines and with supporting documents submitted to Extracurricular Activity Section. For more information regarding on-campus scholarship applications, refer to NCUT website/Scholarships and Financial Aids Information at http://scholarship.ncut.edu.tw/

  3. Off-campus Scholarship: The scholarships offered by off-campus institutions will be announced immediately on the announcement board of scholarships at the Office of Student Affairs and online at “NCUT Scholarship” webpage along with an application form that is ready to be downloaded. Applications should be submitted with supporting documents to Extracurricular Activity Section within designated deadlines. What services are provided by Hygiene and Health Section?

  1. Services of the section include treatment for emergency injuries, loans of medical devices, applications for student group insurance claims, student medical checks,  health consultation, and hygiene education. DIY checks for height, body weight, blood pressure and body fat are also available.

How to apply for a medical insurance claim when student injuries happen?

  1. If students are hospitalized due to contracting a disease or receiving treatments for an injury during the schooling period, after healed, they should provide the following documents.

(1)The original medical receipt or a copy (with the medical institution’s official stamp on it)

(2)The original copy of Diagnosis Certificate (on the most recent medical visit, the number/the dates of medical visits and admission date should be indicated on it)

(3)A copy of Student ID (front and back) (Please take a photocopy and get it stamped with the semester registration stamp at the Registration Section.)

(4)A copy of injured student’s Passbook cover and an ID Card copy (front and back)

(5)Injured student’s stamp (for the students younger than 18 years old, a stamp of either parent is required)Have the above-listed documentation ready and complete the application form for a student group insurance claim at Hygiene and Health Section (on the ground floor of Guoshiu Building); in cases of bone fracture, attach the X-ray disc. For international students, front and back copies of either a Resident Permit or Entry Permit are required. The application deadline is within two years from the incident day. In cases of overdue, the claim is automatically invalidated.

How do I contact the undertaker of Overseas Chinese Student and Foreign Student Health Insurance? Where is the office?

  1. The undertaker is part of the Student Assistance Section. Please call 04-23924505, ext. 2324, or e-mail sylvia@ncut.edu.tw.
  2. Please go to the Student Assistance Section located on 6th Floor of the Qing-Yong Building for questions regarding health insurance.
