Introduction
1973
The Department of Industrial Engineering And Management was set up. Two classes of students were recruited every year.
1985
One more class was provided.
1987
One more class was provided. Night Division was established.
1988
One more class was provided respectively by Day Division and Night Division.
1990
There were seven classes at Day Division and five classes at Night Division.
1999
NCUT was restructured to become an Institute of Technology. The department provided with a two-year technical program. There was one class for students
in the program (Day Division).
2000
A two-year technical program was provided by the Division of Continuing and Extension Education. There were two classes for students in the program.
2001
A four-year technical program (Day Division) was provided, and there was one class for students in the program. A two-year in-service program was provided
and there was one class for students in the program. These programs were approved by Ministry of Education already. The department provided the two-year
technical program, the four-year technical program and the two-year junior college program (Day Division), the two-year technical program and the two-year
junior college program at Division of Continuing and Extension Education, and the two-year in-service program.
2002
It would provide four classes for the two-year junior college program, one class for the four-year technical program and one class for the two-year technical
program at Day Division; three classes for the two-year junior college program, two classes for the two-year technical program and one class for the
two-year in-service program at Division of Continuing and Extension Education; and two classes for the two-year junior college program at College of Continuing
Education. Besides, the application filed by NCUT for the establishment of the Graduate Institute of Production System Engineering and Management was
approved by Ministry of Education, and the Graduate Institute would recruit students in 2002.
2003
With the efforts of all teachers and students, the department was evaluated by Ministry of Education and ranked Class I.
2006
The Department and the Graduate Institute were combined in this academic year. The name of the Department – Department of Industrial Engineering and
Management – remained unchanged.
2007
The in-service master’s program and the four-year technical program at Night Division were approved to be provided in this academic year. The two-year junior
college program at Day Division was terminated.
2010
The Department’s two-year junior college program at Night Division was terminated.
2011
The Department initially acquired the IEET engineering certification (for the four-year technical program and the master’s program).
2013
The department acquired the IEET engineering certification for its entire school system (the four-year technical program and the master’s program at Day Division; the
four-year technical program and the two-year technical program at Division of Continuing and Extension Education; the two-year technical program at College of Continuing
Education; the in-service master’s program; and the two-year junior college program at Extension Junior College)
